 A decent start by Indian openers after being invited to bat first by England skipper Ben Stokes. KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal stitched together a fantastic 91-run partnership, setting a solid foundation. However, India suffered a setback with two back-to-back dismissals — KL Rahul, who scored 42 off 78 balls, was the first to fall, followed by debutant Sai Sudharsan, who was dismissed for a duck. Yashasvi Jaiswal remained firm at one end, scoring an unbeaten 42 off 74 balls, including 8 delightful drives. In the first session, English pacer Brydon Carse provided a crucial breakthrough in the 25th over, dismissing KL Rahul. Later, skipper Ben Stokes made an impact with the ball, claiming the wicket of Sai Sudharsan with a sharp delivery. At lunch, India posted 92 runs for the loss of 2 wickets.
